ManeGait Therapeutic Horsemanship

ManeGait Therapeutic Horsemanship (www.manegait.org), an equestrian center providing equine facilitated therapy and rehabilitation, opened in the summer of 2008 to begin fulfilling its vision of enabling children and adults with disabilities to move beyond their boundaries through the healing power of the horse and the dedication of a professional, caring community.

Located in Avalon’s headquarters city of McKinney, TX, ManeGait offers programs that allow for educational interactions with horses for children and adults with physical, mental and emotional disabilities and learning differences. Its dedicated and experienced staff, and beautiful site and facilities, provide a world class experience for the patient while serving as a positive pillar of the community.

Viewing technology as an important aspect of the organization’s success, founders Bill (President of Darling Homes) and Priscilla Darling, retained Avalon Consulting to develop a state-of-the-art website to help announce and market the organization’s programs; educate people with disabilities, or those connected to people with disabilities, about the positive effects of therapeutic horsemanship; provide a central location for prospective and current students to download information and interact online as a community; serve as a channel for donations and fundraising awareness; and to keep the local and therapeutic riding communities abreast of the organization’s strides and successes.

Avalon's services for the design and development of ManeGait's website were entirely donated. In addition, Avalon is providing pro-bono support on an ongoing basis.
