Avalon's Developer Utilities will help developers build sites faster and more efficiently. These tools automate repetitive configuration tasks, simplify common maintenance tasks, and give insight into what's going on behind the scenes.

Migration Utility

• Provides an alternative, more user-friendly interface for importing and exporting VCM assets
• Gives the user the option to filter out Content Type and Workflow elements, which are commonly included when they should not be
• Works in conjunction with the Manifest Builder tool

Manifest Builder

• Provides an interface for building import/export manifest files
• Allows a user to build manifests consisting of sites, channels, content instances, content types and projects
• Created manifests can be used automatically by the Migration Utility

Log Viewer

• Provides a single interface for viewing logs
• Any log on the server can be registered
• VCM and Runtime Services logs are registered automatically
• A user can perform case sensitive keyword searches, filter by time, and limit the number of lines shown

Channel Template Association Utility

• Provides a quick and easy interface for associating presentation templates to channels
• Allows a user to associate a template to either a single channel or a channel and all sub channels
• Significantly reduces the number of clicks and configuration time

Component Copy Utility

• Provides an interface for copying component definitions from one template to another
• Significantly reduces the number of clicks and configuration time

ID Inspector

• Provides a quick and easy interface for looking up globally unique ids
• A user can lookup site, channel, content instance, content type and project ids

Component Cleaner

• Provides an interface for removing content components definitions from presentation templates
• Provides a way to remove orphaned content components from the VCM

Dynamic Portal Performance Tool

• Provides vital information on a region-by-region basis
• A user can determine how long a region took to render, whether it was cached or not, the type of component, the query defined for that region (if applicable), the cache key generated
• Collects statistics for multiple requests to a single page (includes mean and standard deviation)

Quick Start Components

• Accelerates deployment of initial implementations and upgrades of Vignette sites using the Dynamic Portal/Dynamic Site modules
• Provides a set of sample DPM/DSM components, e.g. breadcrumbs, menus, common presentation templates
