Working Boys' Center

The Working Boys' Center is a religious institution located in Quito, Ecuador, committed to working boys and their families, founded with the objective of creating, developing and strengthening moral values by means of changes in attitudes and behavior, helped by programs of formation and social assistance.

The Center’s goal is that the families of the working boys will be united in their Christian commitment, be financially independent, have access to education, health and quality basic services; become agents of change, oriented to the construction of a just society that promotes equal participation and respect for fundamental rights.
The Working Boys Center has been contributing to the social welfare of the Quito community since the early 1960’s when Father John Halligan and Sister Miguel Conway founded the Center in an attic and began providing meals, education and health services to 200 shoeshine boys.

Avalon’s services for the redesign the Center’s public facing website (www.workingboyscenter.org) were entirely donated. The new site strives to better increase awareness of the Center’s growing efforts in the local community, promote charitable donations, and encourage volunteer participation by providing a more engaging look and feel, intuitive navigation and comprehensive story.
